Similarities
1. Networks are effective tools for teachers to communicate with their peers as well as their students.
2. In the class environment, students by using computers will have more access to rich information under the guidance of the teacher.
3. Teachers adopt multimedia such as sound, images or videos as a part of their teaching so as to make the class more dynamic and interesting.
Differences
1. In the Road Ahead, networks are regarded to be efficient and frequent for communication between parents and teachers. While in my institution, teachers rarely communicate with parents, even if they have to talk to parents, they usually use telephones or write letters, for most parents in the rural country cannot have an access to computers, let alone to the internet.
2. According to Gates, digital white board which can display pictures, movies etc. will take the place of blackboards in language teaching. In contrast, what are majorly used in my university are still blackboard plus chalks, only some classrooms are equipped with computers for teaching.
3. The Road Ahead presents an exciting future of creating presentations with multimedia content by teachers and students themselves. Whereas, in my institution teachers and students hardly create presentations with such kind of multimedia by themselves, instead, they adapt texts, pictures and videos from the internet or other resources.
Possibilities
1. Teachers can set up blogs and blackboards to communicate with their colleagues together with their students in language teaching and learning.
2. Teachers can create presentations such as movie-making for the class ; meanwhile, they can encourage students to take part in the creation as well, so that both teachers and students will be more motivated by enjoying the process.

Dear zhiqin, I agree with you on the possible future in China that blogs and blackboard will be common tools in teaching and effecient communication channel between teachers and students. I think in this sense, NIE and other universities in Singapore have done much better than universities in China.
Yes, therefore, let's cherish the last few months here, learn something new in NIE, especially from the IT course, so that we can put them into practice after we go back to China.
Dear Zhiqin and Xiaoli,
I also wish to use blogs and esp. E-portfolio in my class after I go back to China. That will surely motivate my students more by making learning English fun for them.
Dear jessica, it is wonderful for you to apply E-portfolio to your teaching practice, which is quite fresh for me. I would like to learn something from you, and let's communicate more in the field of blog.
